Otoplasty

Otoplasty is a broad term that means correction of ear deformities. Some people are born with ears that protrude from the head more than normal or that are lacking the normal ear folds causing the external portion of the ear to appear more smooth than normal.

With ear surgery the incisions are typically behind the ear and internal stitches are placed to recreate the normal ear folds and to pin back the ears closer to the scalp.
